Steel Plate Solutions started in Richards Bay in 2014 with a simple idea: supply great steel plate and back it up with practical processing. Today we run two branches, employ 111 people and support customers across South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.

Steel Plate Solutions is a South African steel plate supplier and processor, serving industries across South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa from our branches in Richards Bay and Germiston. We carry large stock of mild steel, S355 structural plate, abrasion-resistant grades and specialty plate, ready to merchant or process on site. Our in-house capabilities include profile cutting, bending, rolling, machining and chamfering, so projects move from raw plate to finished components under one roof. From the first phone call to the last delivery, our teams are focused on stock you can count on, service you can trust and quality that stands up on the floor.

Richards Bay opens
The SPS story begins in KwaZulu-Natal with a focus on bending, rolling and plate processing.
Brakpan operation begins
A smaller Gauteng operation kicks off — laying the groundwork for what comes next.
SPS Germiston is established
Brakpan grows into the Germiston branch with large stockholding and large-scale processing.
Two branches, one standard
111 people, 17 000 m² under crane, up to 5 500 tons of stock — supporting customers across SA and sub-Saharan Africa.
